March 31, 2007 at 1:12 am (Keys)

This took me about 2 months to write. So much so that I was on the verge of giving up. In any case though, here it is. A continuation of Male Hands. 1420 words. ^^;Also, cut because this is EXTREMELY long. Read the rest of this entry »

Dreamers Prologue: Walking in Darkness

March 30, 2007 at 11:39 am (Dreamers)

Same characters, different take on the same story and path. Yes, I’m rewriting it again. Take this as a sort of AU fic till I can figure out where to slot it. Blame Naoko and Sukina. Don’t look at me like that, ladies. You threw this on me. Also, I apologise for the long sentences. 1081 words.

Kamiya was running.

As she did, her senses picked up people who were disturbed by her passing, much the same as a ripple on a calm pond as a pebble skipped across it. She smiled to herself at the analogy. Like the pebble, she would have to sink sooner or later, but unlike the pebble she could choose where to sink. If she remembered the place right, the person she was looking for would be up by now. That person would also be quite annoyed, but Kamiya was certain that the news she brought was worth the pain of listening to a lecture.

Cosplay plans on hold

March 26, 2007 at 9:06 pm (Challenges)

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Until I’m settled into this job, I’m putting my cosplay plans on hold. That means Kio from Loveless and Count D from Petshop of Horrors. I really apologise for the sudden change, but I need to get my finances and life back in order before I can think of cosplaying.

I’ll know by October whether Kio can be done (which will leave me 3 months to get the cosplay into order… ghetto again?).

Count D is definitely out of the question this year. Gomen to whoever was expecting me as that (which I know no one was. :P)

Bloggers? Credible?

March 21, 2007 at 10:21 pm (Blog, Governance)

Amusement.

After my initial reaction of disbelief, that was what settled in once I’d finished reading the Warning by esteemed Information Minister more or less forbidding mainstream media to quote any information from blogs and websites. According to him, the websites and the blogs are all created by frustrated journalists and political pundits. He mentioned that the mainstream media would be disgraced if they quoted information from all these blogs and websites.

Notice that those are valid points. I will go far enough to agree with the minister that if the mainstream media is silly enough to quote whole-heartedly from the websites, then they deserve what they get, which is ridicule and the like…. waitaminute! Don’t some of the national-language dailies already suffer from such lack of credibility? Of course, in many cases these people are quick to say they have been slandered, but in some cases (think the Deputy Internal Security minister who insists that he is innocent though he did admit to releasing the prisoners, though no reason was forthcoming) it promotes transparency.

To a certain extent, it puts politicians and office holders in the spotlight and forces them to acknowledge their responsibilities and actions, which I believe is a good thing. Our Prime Minister is big on transparency, and his call to the minister to explain himself instead of telling the media to back off is commendable. (Yes, I am a Badawi Fangirl). Of course, coming on the heels of local town councillors who still act like little Napoleans and with no one to bring them to account, it seems unfair to have the spotlight solely on the bigger politicians.

Truth to be told though… I really don’t see the issue.

I’m more worried about this though:

Zainuddin advised readers suspicious of the information posted on blog websites to refer to the mainstream media to get the true picture.

I smell propaganda.

Hot baths

Are love.

Honestly… A hot bath can do wonders.

When you come home… to someone you love and a hot bath… it’s simply divine.

Two paths diverged

March 13, 2007 at 12:17 am (Poetry, Romance/ Love)

Yes, based on the Robert Frost poem.

Two paths diverged in a bleak wood
One was full of flowers and life
But down this smooth road lay a rocky path
The promise of a beautiful summit far off in the distance

Two paths diverged in a bleak wood
One was alive but bland and twisting
Thorns lay ahead but then were emptiness
Unsure glimpses of colour peeked among the thorns

Two paths diverged in bleak wood
A fairy I saw, and his hand I took
“For now it’s rosy, but soon we’ll face troubles
If we hold each other’s hands, would you walk with me?”

Two paths diverged in a bleak wood
Not so bleak, choices made
Perhaps walking through this forest called Life
Isn’t so bleak anymore.
