Broken Shield and Sword

According to bro, comp’s running on SDRam. I have a 256mb.

Anyone can spare me some extra ram? Or at least tell me where to get a 1gig one without killing my wallet? Preferably under RM500 if possible. >

I bought some DVD and CD games over the past few weeks but did not get the time to install them. There was also a slight phobia as my two previous attempts to install Fable: The Lost Chapters had been a spectacular failure (they kept saying that they could not find a required file), and I couldn’t play that. Before that, it was another DVD game; Dungeon Seige (which I have yet to install after getting the new DVD).

So it was a bit of trepediation when I installed Children of the Nile yesterday (seeing a pattern in the games I play?) and it told me that although it could detect my DirectX, when I told it to install the new versions anyway, it couldn’t find the file. The game was installed, but I dreaded touching it as I couldn’t bear to face the disappointment.

I decided to open the computer today and just see if it could be played (having copied the crack over after installation last night).

AND IT WORKED.

I’m so happy. Will be going home to play a good sim game after this. ^_^

Things to install on Verita:

1. Chinese language set
2. Japanese language set

Connection will be up tonight, hopefully.

But, apparently, my Verita beats Louisa VII. *Laughs*

Verita’s network card was hit by lightning again yesterday. No PC for the time being. Damn. *Cries*

I switched on Verita this morning trying to get some mail before I headed off to get the offer letter from the company I’m due to work for.

Verita refused to start up, and kept hitting me with this “Windows was not able to start, please choose option” kind of screen. I got pissed rather than freaking out, and so I borrowed my bro’s comp.

I came home, decided to see if the WinXP cd would allow me to restore my comp, and received a very scary notification:

Your harddisk is either damaged, faulty, unformatted, or not formatted properly. You need to reformat it.  

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

So I sent Verita back. Hopefully I’ll get her back tomorrow evening. Cross your fingers.

The network card of Verita (my comp) is currently out. However, I suspect that there is more to that as switching Verita on is proving to be more of a hassle than it should be. I’m taking her back to her seller tomorrow. I think I’ll back up my music just to be safe too. Will be back hopefully tomorrow.
