Religion is personal

February 2, 2006

And i know that you would have realised that this is not just against Islam, but to Kristians and Buddish too. I am suprise that you think this is not a big deal. Try think, why do we think so? Think.

The above line was in reference to someone trying to defend the religious body’s stance against the so-called deviant Black Mental movement. The author of that comment tells us to think, and for him, it seems that deviating from a religion that has no meaning for you and one that you followed because you were forced to is a bad thing. Isn’t religion supposed to be personal? Something between you and God?

Some say that the division between Church and State will lead to a moral decline and an increase of secularity. I say this: If you intepreted your own religion according to the spirit and the actual law itself, know how and when to discriminate between both and use your head, common sense, and fairness, we would not have this problem in the first place. Nyaa.

Religion is so subjective. You know, money might not be the root of all evil…. ;P

    yes and yes.

But i’m not saying about that. Its a matter of being respecting other culture/religion. whether you are involved or not.

I would want to state here also, that my opinion doesnt represent my people’s (i’m just 17!) . It’s just that when i first read someone questions why we do as we did without knowing firsthand to try to understand with our pov, i got mad and write out my feelings. I’m sorry if what i’ve write bother anyone.

No. If you’ve explained it, then I have no grouse against you. I’m more annoyed by people who force others, but respecting other people’s religions and choices are important in our country. Not just tolerance, but respect. There’s a fine line between the two.

17, BTW, is not too young to be thinking, nor is it representative of your race. Thank you for coming here to explain yourself. It is appreciated and I respect you sincerely for having the guts to come here at all. ^_^
